| There appears to be some confusion on Walter's wives. BLG1937 identifies his 1st wife as Anne, daughter of Sir James Stuart of Ardvorlich and widow of MacDonald of Sana, but TSP (Bute) suggests that the widow of Macdonald of Sana was the following Anne.
