| Raulf Kempe, lord of Brerlenge Oldnty in Kent (d 1313?) | |||||||||||||||
| 1. | Sir John Kemp | ||||||||||||||
| m. Agnes Alden (dau of Sir Thomas Alden) mentioned by various web sites | |||||||||||||||
| A. | Sir Roger Kemp | ||||||||||||||
| B. | Thomas (or Peter) Kempe (d 1428) | ||||||||||||||
Visitation (Kent, 1574) suggests that Thomas's wife Beathris (sic) was daughter of Sir Thomas Leukener by a daughter of Sir Thomas Hoo but experience with the Visitations regarding the Hoo family makes that suspect. Various web sites name the husband of Beatrice Lewknor as Peter. Visitation shows Cardinal John as brother of the Sir Thomas who married Emelyn, heiress of Alyn Chiche, and was father of Sir William who married Elynor Browne. If the dates (provided by some web sites) are to be believed, there must have been 2 or 3 generations between Cardinal John and Sir Thomas. It seems clear that there has been confusion between generations. Further investigation is required. |
