It is a presumption that Charles and Margaret were parents of the following Cholmley but it is reported that a Cholmley Turner inherited much wealth from his granduncle, Sir William who was Lord Mayor of London (see below), whilst having the same name as his presumed mother gives some additional comfort that the presumption is not too insecure. |

A web site indicates that the successor of Cholmley was his nephew Charles who was young when he came into the inheritance. The dates suggest that he was probably the Charles who was created a baronet but it is possible that there was an intervening generation. Sir Charles's father is identified as William of Kirkleatham in TCB. |
