This page is still being researched. It has NOT yet been launched formally into the Database but is shown here TEMPORARILY (albeit for an uncertain length of time pending further research), partly to record connections that we fear we might otherwise lose sight of and partly in the hope that one or more visitors to the site will contribute information that will enable us to develop our information on the families covered in this page to a standard that would support release of a dedicated page in the Database.

(1) Some web sites show the following Bernard as son of Sir Edmund Mortimer (d 1409, bother of Roger, 4th Earl of March). BE1883 (Mortimer of March) reported that Sir Edmund had issue "said to have settled in Scotland" but we have also seen (we can't remember where) that he only had daughters. We suspect that the alleged connection is spurious.
(2) Apart from one site, we have seen little evidence that the following family has ever been subjected to serious research. The following is speculative, based only partly (and too hastily) on that site (which we have yet to investigate fully so we apologise should be doing a disservice to the work reported there), and may be subject to significant revision in due course.
