Draft & temporary pages : Can you help ?

We are very conscious of the fact that most of the genealogical databases that are available on the Internet contain many gaps and MANY errors (see here for a few well-known examples). We are working hard to improve our database BOTH by making it bigger (more families covered with more interconnections) AND by making it better (more accurate & reliable). This cannot happen all at once but is being done slowly yet almost continuously, with new lists being added regularly and with improvements & corrections being made regularly also. WE WELCOME CONSTRUCTIVE SUGGESTIONS AND OTHER INPUT PROVIDED IN GOOD FAITH. The database has already benefited greatly from input from some of our visitors/users. Our Thank You page identifies some of those who have helped most. Whilst this is a privately owned & managed site, most of its content is being provided free in a spirit of co-operation and communal support. It is much appreciated when others co-operate with us and help us improve the scope & quality of our database and thereby help us to help others.

We are fortunate in having access to a wide range of sources (some at hand, some in nearby libraries, some in libraries more distant) but have not yet been able to find comprehensive and reliable sources for many families. We would be grateful for your assistance in researching some of them in particular, those reported below, but would welcome other input also subject to the ongoing constraints that:
1. we do not include a family unless there is a proven connection to another family that is already in the database.
2. we normally do not include people born after 1800.

We are also keen to investigate families which are reasonably closely connected to that of Stirnet's owners. As reported on the Sources & Acknowledgements page, one of the core parts of (and inspirations for) the database was information collected in 1832 by James Balderston. His database traced the descendants of Patrick Graham, 1st of Lymekilns, and by following the families of daughters as well as of sons covered many families in and around Glasgow, Cambuslang, East Kilbride, Rutherglen, and Paisley (in Central Scotland). One of our ambitions is to link some of these families more fully into the rest of the database (eg connecting the Fleming and Falconer branches to their respective senior lines).
