Henderson does not identify John's 1st wife but notes that Douglas suggests that his son William married ## Janet Leslie, dau of Patrick, 1st Lord Lindores ##. Paterson does so also and identifies William, rather than his father John, as m2. Elizabeth Sinclair and father of Sir John, etc.. This appears to be the John for whom Paterson gives a different ancestry and different wives (## see here ##). BP1934 identifies Janet Leslie as John's 1st wife.
