| That William was possibly/probably father of Henry (Chief Baron of the Exchequer) is given in VCH. The Wendover article notes that there was a brass in Wendover church which listed his 9 children and 23 grandchildren. Sadly, that brass was stolen in 1978. Fortunately, a rubbing of it has been reproduced on Lipscomb (Bucks, vol 2, p491). Thanks to a contributor (DCS, 17.10.15) for drawing our attention to these connections and to an archived Gen-Medieval article (which appears to have since been moved) which identified a possible parentage for William and suggests that his wife was ... | |||||||||||||||
