MGH suggests that the following Roger (Rogier) was "Said to be a younger illegitimate son of Humphrey, Duke of Gloucester (who ... married Jacoba, Countess of Hainault and Holland, Duchess of Brabant ...), in whose service he went to Hainault" and "settled at Meenen, where he died 14_3". TCB ("Gloucester") identifies 2 Humphreys, Dukes of Gloucester, living around the end of the 14th century (here) and early 15th century (here) but their dates do not suggest that they were Roger's father and neither of them married such a Jacoba, whom we cannot identify. Visitation reports that Roger was an "Englishman being in service with the Duke of Glucester (sic) went over with him into Flanders a° 1423 and there married".
