Andrew Kinninmonth of that ilk of Craighall (d 1545)
ER shows Andrew's marriages in the order Margaret Abercrombie, Elizabeth Barclay then Janet Lindsay. We follow MacGregor & MacFarlane. Whilst McGregor is uncertain as to whether or not the contracted marriage to Janet Lindsay actually took place, MacFarlane (p540) reports that she bore 4 children by Andrew who also had one child by Margaret and children (plural) by Elizabeth. MacGregor names 4 children Patrick, William, John & Eupham, but does not attribute them to the wives. Provisionally, we attribute them all to ...
m1. (mcrt 04.07.1526) Janet Lindsay (dau of Sir John Lindsay of Pitcruvie)
1. | Patrick Kinninmonth of that ilk of Craighall (d c1589)
(1) MacFarlane stops with this Patrick (along with the Effie or Eupham who married Sir William Duddingston). ER shows his marriages in the order Elizabeth Abercrombie (mother of the first Andrew), Christian Beaton (mother of the other children), then Elizabeth Wemyss. We follow MacFarlane & MacGregor in showing Christian Beaton as Patrick's 3rd wife not least because her first husband did not die until 1577. (2) MacGregor does not indicate whethr or not Patrick had any children by Elizabeth Abercomby but does state that he had issue by Elizabeth Wemyss. ER reports that the children below are as suggested by ER but note that 'East Neuk of Fife' (Walter Wood, 1887, p253) suggests that the marriage to Elizabeth Abercombie took place in 1552 whereas the dates below, given by ER, suggest that it was earlier than that. |

F. | Euphame Kinninmonth (b c1552) | --
MacGregor, MacFarlane & ER all show a daughter named Euphame in this generation but with different marriages. Cross-references from the husbands suggest that they may both have been of this generation. It is certainly unusual to have 2 children named the same but it is not unknown, particularly if they had different mothers. We presume that the Euphame of this marriage was that shown by ER as married as follows.
