(1) BLGI1912 reports that "The O'Carrolls descend from Kian, son of Oillioll Olium, King of Munster, who d. A.D.234, and are the leading family of the Clan Kian race. ... Kerball, from whom the name - which significes "a warlike champion" ... - is derived, was 23rd in descent from Kian." "14th in descent from Kerball" was the following Teige. We hope to provide those early generations, and also fill out the following, in due course.
(2) BLGI1912 identifies the arms of the following family as "Arg., two lions rampant combatant gu., supporting a sword erect ppr. pomel and hilt or".
