  i. John Philpot of Compton, Sheriff of Hampshire (d 1484)
VCH (Compton) identifies John's wife as just Elizabeth but this appears to be the Elizabeth (aka Anne) mentioned at the end of TCP (Lisle of the Isle of Wight) as mother of Sir John Philpott father of Sir Peter father of Thomas. This is supported by VCH (Thruxton) which identifies her as Agnes, sister of Sir Nicholas Lisle.

  (a) Sir John Philpot of Compton & Thruxton (d 1634)

(2) VCH (Thruxton) identifies Henry as Sir John's son & heir and mentions Henry's brother Thomas. VCH (Compton) identifies George as Sir John's son & heir. We are not sure on the order of the sons.
