TCB (vol 1, ''Ashby of Harefield', p198) supports CTG (p128) and reports that Francis dspm after his marriage to Joane, without mentioning any other marriage or relationship. However, CTG (vol 5, 1838, 'Ashby of Haddiscoe, co. Norfolk', p127), which refers to a "Baronetage of 1727', which we have not managed to identify, shows the following, reporting that "The latter part of the pedigree, without dates, is from the information of a respectable inhabitant of Haddiscoe." We presume that, if the following connection with Mary Wolaston has any validity, it was informal and not consecrated by formal marriage.
p. Mary Wolaston (dau of Sir John Wolaston)
(ii) | John Ashby | ||||||||||||||
CTG (p127) identifies John as a Bart but notes that he was "disinherited on account of his marriage". As indicated above, we are not convinced by that.
m. Mary Stukely (dau of William Stukely of London)
(a) | Charles Ashby (d 1699-1700, Rector of Haddiscoe, Norfolk)

m1. Elizabeth Harvy (b 1642-3, d 19.04.1671, dau of Samuel Harvy of Wange (Vange))
((1)) | William Ashby (bpt 20.03.1697-8, bur 02.11.1728)
CTG (p127), still indicating that this had been reported in a Baronetage of 1727, shows William as a Bart. He is identified as "servant to a farmer at Haddiscoe".
