Commoners reports that the following Robert was "a younger son of the Spearmans, of Dunnington, in Salop" which had been "seated there since the Conquest, and said to be descended from the old Lords of Aspramont"", which senior line was extinct. Commoners reports that Robert "came into the north with the troops that suppressed the great Northern Rebellion, called The Pilgrimage of Grace, and was at the battle of Solway Moss, in 1642."
