It reports that Richard was "direct ancestor" of the Peter Bold who died in 1762 and then identifies Richard (d 1704), son of Peter, as an intermediary generation. We presume that Peter was son of this Richard (d 1635) and father of Richard (d 1704), grandfather of Richard (d 1762). However, there must be some doubt on this or else, presumably, Commoners would not have phrased the descent so strangely.
