The interesting web site identified below as a Main Source for this page reports that "The original spelling of the surname was HEUENYNGHAM with a silent 'v' and it has always been pronounced HENNINGHAM.   The Visitations (Cambridgeshire & Suffolk) show this Anne as married to Ambrose Jermyn. However, a contributor (SH, 27.07.17) has kindly advised us that Anne's father George's will (probated 01.1537) shows Anne as married to Richard Markham. The Anne who married Richard had (at least) 12 children and the Anne who married Ambrose (shown as m2. Dorothy Badbye, marriages possibly the wrong way around?) had (at least) 11 children, with dates apparently overlapping. Provisionally, we show both marriages but this must be wrong! It is, of course, possible that there were 2 sisters whose names have been confused.
