Their son Henry, a Baronet, was found to be successor to his kinsman Sir Patrick Lindsay and so was de jure 9th Earl of Lindsay, 8th Viscount Garnock, and 18th Lord Lindsay of the Byres. His eldest son, John Trotter Lindsay, proved his claim and was accepted as 10th Earl of Lindsay, etc, but dsp. The titles were inherited by his cousin David Clark Lindsay below. |
