Families covered: Parr of Kendal, Parre of Parre (Parr)

BE1883 describes the arms of this family as "Arg. two bars, az., a border engrailed, sa". That indicates that there was no known connection with the Paris/Parris or Pares families. Indeed, BE1883 reports that "The surname of Parr is local, being derived from a manor of that name in the parish of Prescot, co. Lancaster, of which the family of Parr were anciently lords."
