'Tudor' shows Sir George as married thrice, to Jane Lark (mother of William) then to Barbara Hampden (mother of Hampden, Giles, Catherine, etc.) then to Elizabeth Windsor (mother of Sir George). That site then shows son William as having married Elizabeth Smith, daugher of Henry Smith by the same Barbara Hampden. Visitation (Buckinghamshire, 1634, Hampden of Hampden) shows his son William as married to Anne, daughter of Edmund Smith (son of Sir John) by Barbara Hampden (her only marriage), by whom he was father of William and Sir Hampden. Giving precedence to the Visitation record, we combine these as follows: |
