BLG1952 reports that William Strode of Newnham (who d unm 27.07.1767) was the last of his line who was succeeded by Richard Strode of Boterford shown below as a descendant of Samson Strode, Canon of Exeter. However, BLG1863 and 1886 suggests that that Richard was great-great-great-grandson of Sir RIchard's younger brother William (of Meavy Church). | |||||||||||||||

We follow BLG1952 and note that the earlier editions of BLG referred to below do not identify his wives' names whilst BP1934 (Sackville) does not show Thomas, 1st Earl, as having a daughter called Elizabeth.
