BLG1952 starts with the following John. Although we understand that it is accepted that John's father was called Richard, a site visitor (JT, 25.02.07) has kindly warned us that the identification of Richard's wife (made in a web site on the Webb family) is "a very substantial claim" which has eluded others. The Webb web site refers to a book "William Shakespeare: A Biography" by A.L. Rowse (1963), a renowned Shakespearean scholar and biographer, as a source for some of its data but JT has advised us that this connection is not given in that book. |
