  (D) John Wake, 1st Lord of Liddell (b 1268, d before 10.04.1300)
TCP is not clear about the identity of his wife other than to name her as Joan. It indicates that she may have been a daughter of either John FitzBernard of Kingsdown or William de Fenes, a Count of Spain. BE1883 does not name his wife at all. The following marriage is suggested by various web sites (eg. 'TUDOR') and is being followed on a provisional basis only and is not secure.

Sir Thomas's wife is identified by various of our sources as Maud, dau of Sir John Pigot (the Archbishop's work says dau of Sir Thomas Pigot). Various web sites give further details as follows.

Various sources, including the Archbishop's work, omit this generation and show Thomas & Agnes as parents of Roger. We follow BP1934, VCH & the Blisworth talk notes in showing this generation.

  i. Roger Wake of Blisworth, Deeping, etc. (b 1452, d 16.03.1503/4)

  m. Elizabeth Catesby (dau of Sir William Catesby)
  a. Thomas Wake of Bourne & Deeping, last of Blisworth (d 1536)
BP1934 reports that Roger was succeeded by his 2nd son, Richard, not naming the 1st son. The Blisworth talk notes identified below names him Thomas (supported by VCH) and names his son & grandson. Those notes also mention a church plaque testimonial which reads "Here lies Sir Tom but do not think it odd. Not earth to earth but sod to sod. Surley for miscreants such as this, Hell was created bottomless".
