The family book identifies William's wife as Margaret, dau of the Laird of Philorth by Margaret, dau of John Abernethie, Lord Saltoun. She m2. Sir John Aitcheson (Say-Master of the Mint). As their eldest son was born 1563, this must be wrong as Fraser04 shows that the laird of Philorth who m. Margaret Abernethy was not born until c1570.
