| BP1934 starts its pedigree with this John having identified him as descended from Thomas Seale, son of Robert ("of the Northumbrian line (who) settled in Jersey" "before the close of Queen Elizabeth's reign") husband of Anne, sister of Sir George Carteret "afterwards Earl of Carteret and Granville, chief justice of the island and governor of Mont-Orgueil Castle". We ignore that identification, which contradicts the above, not least because its identification of the Earl Carteret & Granville looks wrong (see here). | |||||||||||||||
