BLG1858 starts with Philip Furse (son of Philip by a dau of the family of Malet of Ash) father of John of Halsdon by Elizabeth (b 1612, heiress of Halsdon), dau of Philip Bellew of Stockleigh English. Vivian ('Bellew of Stockleigh English', p69) shows that Elizabeth as married to John Furse (above), consistent with p385. BLG1952 appears to accept that BLG1858 was in error and starts with the following Philip. The coat of arms shown in BLG1952 is the same as that shown for the above family by Vivian. BLG1952 reports that "These arms, which have been borne by the family for several generations, are not at present recorded at Heralds' College, though research to this end is now going forward." It seems likely that exactly how the following family connects to the above family has not yet been identified & proven. | |||||||||||||||
