Robert (le) Parker of Bulwell, Nottinghamshire mentioned by FMG
1. | Thomas le Parker of Bulwell (a temp Edward III who r. 1327-1377) the first mentioned by Collins
FMG identifies Thomas's wife as Joan, sister/coheir of John Gotham. Collins identifies her as ...
m. Elizabeth de Gotham (dau/heir of Adam de Gotham of Norton Lees son of Thomas son of Roger)
A. | Robert Parker of Norton Lees
m. Elizabeth or Margaret Birley (dau/coheir of John Birley of Barnes) named Elizabeth by Collins but Margaret by FMG

m. Ellen or Helen North (dau of Roger North of Walkeringham)
a. | John Parker of Norton Lees
m. Elizabeth or Margaret Eyre (dau of Ralph Eyre of Alfreton) named Elizabeth by FMG & Collins but Margaret by the Eyre records
Collins identifies 3 sons for John & Elizabeth (John, Henry & Anthony) but does not continue this line any further.

(2) | George Parker of Parwick see ## below
(1) George is not mentioned by either FMG or Collins but BP1934 ('Parker of Shenstone') refers to Visitation (Dugdale, Staffordshire, 1663, 'Parker of Park Hall') as showing John & Elizabeth as parents of this George. This is supported by our copy of that Visitation (the report on it in 'Collections for a History of Staffordshire' by The William Salt Archaelogical Society (Part II, vol V, 1884, p229)) which starts with George but inludes a note that identifies him as "Son (according to a pencil note in the original) of John Parker of Norton Lees by Elizabeth Eyre. (2) Note that Collins identifies the George who was father of William of Parwick, ancestor of the Earls of Macclesfield, as another George, shown below. It is not known whether or not the Barbara Barley shown as that George's wife was in fact this George's wife (and mother of William). |
|||||||||||||||
(3)+ | other issue (dsp) - Henry, Anthony, Margaret
b. | Thomas Parker of Little Norton & Whitley (d 1552)
FMG mentions Thomas ("was mar.") but does not follow his line. Collins identifies Thomas's wife as the daughter and heir of _ Parker of his own family by which is presumed he means she was a cousin. BLG1952 reports that he had two wives, firstly Elizabeth and secondly Agnes, having issue by both. It indicates that the eldest son of the 2nd marriage was Robert (not mentioned by Collins) who, being of Little Norton, we assume to have been his heir and so elder brother of William (mentioned by Collins but not by BLG1952). From this we presume that Thomas's second wife was called Agnes Parker.

m2. Agnes Parker (cousin)

(A) | George Parker of Nether Lees (Norton Lees) see ## above
Collins identifies this George as father of William of Parwick, ancestor of the Earls of Macclesfield. We follow BP1934, on the presumption that further research uncovered further information, and presume that Collins had confused this George with the above-mentioned George of Parwick.
