| BLG1886 (Bearcroft of Meer Hall) reports that "The estate of Meer Hall was possessed by the Bearcrofts, in lineal male descent, from a remote period up tp the year 1822, when it passed into the female line, whose heirs assumed the name and armds of Bearcroft. Meer Hall is stated to have been built by Thomas Bearcroft (in) 1337". VCH (Worcestershire, vol 3, Parishes: Hanbury) reports that: "By 1754 the manor had passed to Edward Bearcroft, who died without issue in 1793, and the estates came into the family of his cousin Elizabeth wife of Robert Longcroft.
