Alexander is mentioned in 'The Scottish Antiquary' as being '9th of Ardchattan' but is not mentioned, other than under "other issue", in BLG1952. BLG1952 provides the date of his father's death which shows that this Alexander dvp and so would not have become the laird. He is mentioned with his sisters in Commoners (vol 2, 'Campbell of Gatcombe', p187).
