Claude Champion, Sr. de Crespigny (in Lower Normandy), later in England (bpt 17.05.1620, d 10.04.1695)
Claude "was an officer of high rank unhte French service, but at the revocation of the Edict of Nantes he quitted France, with the whole of his family, and came to England, where he was received by the Pierrepoints, being allied by marriage to that noble house. He obtained a colonel's commission in the British army".
