  Both CountyGen (Berry, Sussex, p133) & CountyGen (Berry, Kent, p85) suggest that it was John who m1. Joan Crondall m2. _ Scott but we follow the other sources in showing that it was his son Nicholas who so married.

The following comes from Visitation (Kent, 1619, 'Bloudell-Chowne') which shows Joanna as Nicholas's 2nd wife whilst Visitation (Sussex, 1662) shows Elizabeth Scott as the 2nd. Visitation (Sussex, 1634) does not order the marriages. HoP ("Nicholas Chowne (Chune)") shows as follows.
