(1) There are contradictions between the pedigrees for this family given by Visitation (Surrey) and those by Visitation (Sussex). We presume to follow Berry who published his report on Visitation (Sussex) in 1830.
(2) Apparently following different branches (or individuals) of the family, their arms are identifies as follows:
* by Visitation (Surrey) as "Azure, a mullet argent, charged with a rounded gules";
* by Visitation (Sussex) as "Azure, a mullet argent, pierced gules, in dexter chief a crescent or for difference";
* by Berry as "Az. a mullet ar. charged charged with a torteaux".

BLG1894 reports that "The Coldhams of Anmer are most likely, from the exact similitude of arms, descended from the Coldhams of Midhurst, Sssex, whose pedigree is to be found in the Visitation of that county". BLG1894 identifies their arms as "Az., a mullet arg. pierced gu.".
