Foster shows Ellis as of Ilkley & High House in Addingham and identifies him as ancestor of Cunliffe Lister-Kaye. This appears to be supported by BLG1886 ('Kay of Farfield') which starts 'properly' with John of Fairfield Hall, identifying him as eldest son of Ellis of Ilkley (by Elizabeth Lister) and as grandson of Nicholas of Wycollar. HOWEVER, we follow the more recent BPGY2001 and the much-respected Frederick Arthur Crisp and show that line on Cunliffe2.
