(1) The continuation shown for Thomas of Uttoxeter is wholly speculative. Indeed, BLG1862, which identifies the following Thomas as grandfather of Ralph, who bought Hints in 1601 and was son of Richard, makes no supposition whatsoever as to his parentage. The Visitations start with Richard of Uttoxeter, father of Ralph & others. Visitation (Staffordshire, 1614+1663-4) & Visitation (London) report that the Hints & London branches claimed arms quartered with those of the Croke family, i.e. claiming that they were descended from the William Floyer & Philippa Croke we show on the continuation as Thomas's parents (the dates do not allow for the connection to be of a later generation). Visitation (Staffordshire, 1663-4) notes that "there seems to be no proof of the descent of the Staffordshire family from that marriage". Noting that caveat, we presume to show that the following Thomas was a son of William & Philippa not least so that we may connect the following branch to the family of Floiers Hayes, an objective which is made for convenience only and which should be deplored by all serious genealogists!
(2) Visitation (London) spells the family name Flyar or Flyer but we keep to Floyer throughout.
