(1) BLG1886 & Commoners report that the following family "descended from an honourable family of the name, of French extraction". Commoners identifies their arms, quartered with those of Phillipps & Lisle, as "2nd and 3rd, a cross ermine between four lions' heads erased or, 1st and 4th field gules, 2nd and 3rd azure" whilst BLG1886 identifies them, quartered with those of Phillipps & Lisle, as "quarterly gu. and arg. a cross erm. between four lioins' heads erased or".
(2) BLG1886 & Commoners, referring to the Thomas who married Susan Lisle, mention his father Thomas and his uncle John. We show them as sons of ...

(1) We speculate that the following Henry was of this generation also. This seems reasonable given that he married his brother (Thomas)'s wife's (elder) sister. We note that CountyGen (Hampshire, Berry, Lisle, p175+) shows Henry & Elizabeth as parents of the John who is shown above as his other brother. We discount that partly because we prefer to support BLG1886 & Commoners and partly because the dates support the view that Henry was of the same genenation as Thomas, probably being older.
(2) BLG1886 indicates that Elizabeth m. Henry March but dsp 1725. 'History and Antiquities of the County of Leicester' (John Nichols, vol 3, part 2, 1804, 'Pedigree of Phillipps of Garendon', p804) suggests that they had issue as shown below.
