Vivian identifies the arms of this family as "Sa. a semée of crosses crossley fitchée Or. a fesse betw. three bears' heads couped of the second". Westcote identifies them as "Sable a fess between three boars's heads couped between six crosslets, or" which, not least with boars replacing bears, makes them more similiar to the arms of the family shown above.

2. Nicholas Beckett
  Westcote shows a Nicholas as 2nd son of this generation. Vivian shows a Nicholas with the following family but does not connect him to the above. Before we reviewed this section using Westcote, we had presumed that Nicholas was brother or cousin of Edmond, rather than his son, because he married the mother of Edmond's son's wife. However, Westcote is clear on this.
