Families covered: Browne of Cork, Browne of Riverstown
BLGI1912 reports that the following Thomas "used on his seal on deeds of the 17th century the arms of Browne, of Abbot's Roding, and South Weald Hall, Essex, with augmenttaion granted to Sir Wiston Browne, Gentleman of the Chamber to Henry VIII, 1511. These arms were: Gu, a chevron between three lions' gambs erect and erased arg, within a bordure of the secondon a chief of the last an eagle displayed sa.". This suggests that this family was possibly a cadet of that shown on Browne11. | |||||||||||||||
