Although it notes that this family had been established at Codrington in Gloucestershire (at least) since the reign of Henry IV (who r. 1399-1413), BP1934 starts with John, the standard bearer. Neither LG1952 nor 'The Genealogist' mention that role but BLG1952 identifies John as grandson of Geoffrey Codrington (b before 1277). 'The Genealogist' starts with the father of John. Robert who was "apparently son or nephew of Robert". We combine these but note some concern that we may be missing a generation between Geoffrey and Robert (a 1399).
