Laurence Oliphant (d Flodden 09.09.1513, Abbott of Inchaffray (Machaffray))
TCB reports that the undermentioned Thomas was "traditionally said to have been descended from Lawrence, Abbot of Machaffray, who fell at Flodden". The undermentioned note with TCP identifies the undermentioned Patrick of Bachilton (d 09.1729) as "possibly a descendant of a bastard s. of Laurence Oliphant, Abbot of Inchaffray (s. of the 1st Lord) , who was slain at Flodden".

  TCB reports that Laurence "was ancestor of the Oliphants of Bachilton, and whose male line failed in 1770, the heir of line being Lord Elibank."
