This page is still being researched. It has NOT yet been launched formally into the Database but is shown here TEMPORARILY (albeit for an uncertain length of time pending further research), partly to record connections that we fear we might otherwise lose sight of and partly in the hope that one or more visitors to the site will contribute information that will enable us to develop our information on the families covered in this page to a standard that would support release of a dedicated page in the Database.

This family is thought to be connected to the Morgans of Tredegar. Closely connected to it was Sir Henry Morgan (b c1635, bur 26.08.1688), the famous buccaneer who became Deputy Governor of Jamaica, but the dates show that Sir Henry could not have been brother of the undermentioned Sir Thomas which is what is suggested by BEB1841. Of Sir Henry, BHO ("Sir Henry Morgan") reports: "Numerous attempts have been made to identify the parents of Henry Morgan, all based on the assumption that he was related to the Morgans of Tredegar. These attempts have all proved unsatisfactory."
