Nicholas Lawrence
Commoners (vol III, Lawrence of Sevenhampton), the Main Source used for Lawrence01, included a note which identified the Nicholas whose 7th son was Sir Oliver as being 'of Agercroft' and as being the 3rd son of Sir Giles (Laurence) of Standish. Commoners does not identify any such Sir Giles. Visitation (Dorset, 1623) shows the Nicholas whose sons were as below as younger brother of the Sir James who is identified by Commoners as 'of Standish' but Commoners just identifies that Nicholas as ancestor of Littleton Lawrence of Cricklade who inherited Shurdington. It seems likely that there has been some confusion between different Nicholases so please note that we are concerned that we may not have right the connection between the Lawrences of this page and their ancestors on Lawrence01.
