Neil Montgomery, 1st of Lainshaw (d 12.1547)
m. Margaret Mure (dau/heir of Quintin Mure of Aird)
Neil's father-in-law is sometimes (including by GH) identified as Quintin Mure of Skeldon, brother of Mure of Rowallan. However, under TSP ('Cassilis'), which identifies Margaret's mother as a daughter of the 1st Earl of Cassilis, he is referred to as 'of Aird' and it is noted that, after Neil's death, Margaret married John Kennedy of Skeldon. It is possible that John Kennedy obtained Skeldon from his father-in-law.
