[This page was uploaded 'Early' (before 19.09.02) as the upper section of Cunningham04. It was moved here to facilitate review & expansion of both pages.]

We originally developed this page using the "Doig" site identified on Cunningham03. However, that web site appears to have disappeared (or at least been moved). As a review on 19.05.20 using Paterson proved to be unsatisfactory, such that we left the tree as previously shown and simply made note of the information provided by Paterson, we will review this page again in due course.

  m. Margaret Moir (dau of laird of Pokellie, possibly Hugh Moir)
  a. Sir William Cuninghame, 5th of Cuninghamhead
  m. Isabel Cuningham (dau of William Cunningham, 4th Earl of Glencairn)
Paterson identifies William's wife as Martha, dau of Sir John Chalmers of Gadgirth by Marion Hay, niece of Lord Yester. He then shows William as succeeded by Robert, probably his son, and notes that Robert married his cousin Margaret, dau of James Chalmers of Gadgirth. Paterson reports that Robert was succeeded by Sir William (a 1555, no wife named), father or possibly elder brother of ...
