We follow TSP which identifies his 1st wife as Katherine Borthwick. It is thought that William had issue by both marriages but, other than to note that most of the children noted below appeared to be adult by the time of the second marriage, it is not clear who if any of these noted was by the second marriage. We presume that none were (not least because Elizabeth must have been in her mid-40s by the time of the marriage) but note that some sources say otherwise. | |||||||||||||||
