This page is still being researched. It has NOT yet been launched formally into the Database but is shown here TEMPORARILY (albeit for an uncertain length of time pending further research), partly to record connections that we fear we might otherwise lose sight of and partly in the hope that one or more visitors to the site will contribute information that will enable us to develop our information on the families covered in this page to a standard that would support release of a dedicated page in the Database.

On various pages within Griffith's Pedigrees, Gwaithfoed is identified as father of Gwerstan or Gwerystan, father of Cynfyn (King of Powy), father of Bleddyn (Prince of Powys/Deheubarth). However, this appears to be disputed. Griffith identifies Gwaithfoed's wife as ...
m. Nest (dau/coheir of Ynyr ddu, King of Gwent)
1. Cynan Feiniad = Cynan of Tegaingl
BP1934 (Newborough) identifies Cynan as son of Gwaethvoed Fawr and father of Madlan who was sister of Ednowain Bednew. We presume that she was full-sister (rather than uterine half-sister) of Ednowain and so show him as Cynan's son.
  A. Ednowain Bendew of Tegaingl
Although there is uncertainty on this (noting his description in BLG1952 (Lloyd-Davis of Whittington) as "Edwyn ab Owain-bendew"), this Ednowain is possibly the Ednowain Bendew (Edwyn ab Owain-bendew) of Llys y Coed y Mynydd, Bodfari who married ...
