Families covered: Coplestone of Bicton, Coplestone of Bowden, Coplestone of Coplestone, Copleston of Eggesford, Coplestone of Instow, Coplestone of Woodland

We have seen reference in a web site to the fact that research on this family has taken it back to the 12th century, apparently with its roots in Devon, but we have not yet found a source which provides the early generations. The Visitation spreads its information on this family over different sections (some of which were identified by the Harleian editor as Supplementary), giving clues but leaving us having to make assumptions on how they fitted together (the main assumption being that there was no misleading/confusing repetition of names across generations combined with multiple marriages).
