Visitation suggests that this was the Katherine who married Sir Thomas Gresley but the dates suggest that it was more likely to have been the Katherine of the next generation, particularly as BP1934 (Gresley) identified the father of that Katherine as Sir Thomas.

  William and Joyce are identified by a number of historical as well as genealogical web sites as parents of Sir Francis who is reported as having been born at Scadbury Park and to have been a cousin (some say uncle, which must be wrong) of the Sir Thomas of Scadbury (1561-1630) who was patron of the playwright Christopher Marlowe.
