This page is still being researched. It has NOT yet been launched formally into the Database but is shown here TEMPORARILY (albeit for an uncertain length of time pending further research), partly to record connections that we fear we might otherwise lose sight of and partly in the hope that one or more visitors to the site will contribute information that will enable us to develop our information on the families covered in this page to a standard that would support release of a dedicated page in the Database.

We have seen some suggestions that the following Sir Richard (or his ancestors) came orginally from Shropshire and others that it came from Northamptonshire.

Otwell Worseley (d 1470)
m. Rose Trevor (dau of Edward (ap David ap Ednyfed Gam ap Iorwerth Voel)) name kindly brought to our attention by a site visitor (DS, 13.09.04)
1. Isabel Worseley (dsp 1524)
  m. Sir John Leigh (d 1523)
2. Ann Worseley
  m. Sir John Gaynsford
'The History of the Parish ...' shows Ann & Sir John as parents of Margaret who married Adrian Whethill. However, Visitation (Surrey, 1530+1572+1623, Gainsford & Gaynsford) show that Margaret as married to Richard Wethell of Essex. We follow various web sites in showing Margaret as sister rather than daughter of Ann.
3. Margaret Worseley (d by 1506)
  m. Adrian Whethill of Calais (d 1503) above

  A. Anthony Bokenham (b c1616)
Visitation ends with this generation. Some sources suggest that the Anthony who was 'of Helmingham' (and was father of Dorothy) was a younger brother of Sir Henry of Thornham (i.e. father of this Anthony) but, having regard to the dates, we suspect that he (the father of Bridget) was this Anthony.
  i. Bridget Bokenham probably of this family, of this generation
