Families covered: More of Barnborough, More of Gobions (Gobbins)
(1) This section was redone on 17.03.18 following the recommendation to look at the ThomasMoreStudies site (now a main source for this page). Previous to that,
the first note here had read as follows: "Part of the following was originally uploaded within Temp07 on 31.03.05, based on information gathered from various other web sites. The following follows Commoners but, for the early generations, adds some dates from various web sites." The page was redone as part of our general preference to reduce reliance on "various web sites" for that normally means that we were not satisfied that such sites, however good they may be, had properly identified their sources. (2) Visitation starts with Sir John, son of the following William & Johanna, identifying him as "of More Place in Hertfordshyre". This raises the thought that he was connected to the family on Moore01. However, we also see that Sir John's 4th wife was of the Mores of Loseley (Surrey) so perhaps there was a connection to the family on Moore04. |
