| (1) Although we use the spelling 'Meredyth' used by the named sources, we have been advised that many members of this family spell their name 'Meredith'. (2) A contributor (KW, 03.06.06) has kindly drawn our attention to http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~sharonmh/Meredith/ which corrects the information previously made public about this family. We have yet to correct this page for the errors reported in that site but aim to do so in the near future. It appears that, amongst other things, the descent claimed for at least the later 'baronets' may have been falsely made. |
