BEB1841 says that Sir Richard had 2 sons (John and William) and provides the descent of William, mentioning that John inherited Ridware and was progenitor of the Cottons of Ridware, Bould & Crackmarsh. Our source on the Venables family indicates that there was another son who was called Richard, was 'of Ridware', and who had children, although none of his sons appeared either to have survived him or to have had male issue themselves.
