Previously it was of consideration in England, and held lands in the counties of Gloucester and Northampton." Commoners reports that a Deane (inferred as being of this family) was Archbishop of Canterbury. Wikipedia shows a Henry Deane as Bishop of Bangor then Bishop of Salisbury then Archbishop of Canterbury (1501-1503).
